Day 3 - Animal Kingdom

I thought Animal Kingdom was a blast!
We started out early, the park opened at 9 and we got there just after 8.

Our plan was to hit Animal Kingdoms newest ride first...
Pandora: the World of Avatar.

Everyone wants to hit that first.
Because wait times were up to 210 minutes at one point when I checked that day.
That's 3.5 hours people!

WHAT????!!!???

So we wanted to be the "first" people there.
HAHA
I don't know what time those "1st people" got there... but it wasn't just after 8.

I still haven't figured out what was actually happening, but they let us in early... probably around 8:20.  Of course we followed the rules of no running and applied Lisa's speed walking skills thinking that we had to be close to the first of the line.
But that line went on forever and ever and ever.
It was crazy!

It moved fast though and probably 40 minutes later just after 9... we were on the ride.
It was cool!
I'm not an Avatar fan but that was an amazing ride.
The line was already over 2 hours when we got off so we were totally pleased with how it all worked out.  I mean we would have been standing in the line to get in until 9 if they hadn't let us in early anyway.

Thank heavens for reviews that told us about getting there early... those poor people who bee bopped in right @ 9 were undoubtedly surprised. ;)

We had fun on Kilimanjaro's Safari... we don't even need to go to Africa now. ;)

Got more pictures with our friends.

Timon

(These two have loved this "Encyclopedia of Animated Disney Characters".
We took it on the Disney Cruise, and found lots more characters to add their signatures in Disney World.
It seems better than the plethora of autograph albums that we have somewhere...
because they actually read this book!! haha)

Pocahantas

Dug and Russell

A penny for your thoughts Lydia.

Donald Duck

Shere Khan and Kaa ;)

I noticed a theme in Animal Kingdom... the photo pass people really love to have us do that "scared" face. haha

We were really pulling out our acting skills on some of these!

Hey there Tink

And Zazu

Bambi and Flower too.
(Lydia... what ya pointin' at?)

And of course we NEEDED pictures with Mickey and Minnie in their Safari gear.

Joe was super excited for these pictures with Mickey.

He thought he was in line for a ride.
We all ignored him when he asked, "Am I going to get wet on this ride."
He acted all surprised when he turned the corner and discovered what we'd been in line for. ;)

We all loved the ride Expedition Everest.
So fun!

The "expensive" photo-pass was definitely worth it.
We got some serious gems on this trip!!
Money well spent in my opinion.

Also shout out to myself for mastering the Fastpass ap and getting us lots of fastpasses.
Disney is always more fun when we aren't waiting in super long lines!

This next picture is for real...
This is the ride Dinosaur.
It's similar to Indiana Jones, but I must admit several times during the ride I thought, "this is fun, but definitely not intense, possibly even a tad bit lame."

Um, my girls did not agree...
That is SHEER fear on Kenna's face.
Jadyn likes to play the look straight ahead so I won't be scared face.
And I'm pretty sure Saige has been on this ride before...
What???!!!???

We got a super good laugh out of this.
I mean even the 2-year-old in the back isn't scared!
:):):):)

Kenna deemed this as... "the scariest ride in all four parks."
(Insert rolling eyes face.)

We were worried about rain, but the weather was perfect.
Possibly a little hot, but I'd be complaining if I said that since I'm freezing at the moment.
It really was practically perfect.

The detail in the Tree of Life is incredible.

I wish I was "pretending" to be cold right now.

But that's super awesome that Disney built this park around that natural mountain.

These two on the right are the best friends ever!

Looking scared again. hahaha

How cute is our Saige?

Her shirt is pretty cute too.
She had seen it and wanted it, so I made it for her.
"Just a small town girl... living in a Disney World."

Saige probably has enough Disney shirts by now to make a quilt out of... hahaha

(heart eyes)

There they are scaring us again.

Lydia is so much fun to have at Disney World.
What a perfect age!!

Yum Yum

I'd take some of these BBQ cheese fries right now please!
(Guess what!  I'm going next week!  you better believe I already have my meals planned out!)

Animal Kingdom was a blast!!

Shane saved his best "Roar" for the last pic.
Don't you agree?
