And they're back...

It's back to the daily grind again... no more sleeping in till whenever... no more late nights playing night games or snuggling on the grass watching the stars.  (Except on the weekends of course. :))
I can't believe I have an 8th grader!!  And Saige being in 6th grade and going to Middle School isn't any easier to believe!!
Kenna is off to 2nd grade this year... and next week Jadyn will start preschool.  It's bitter-sweet for me... I miss them being gone so long each day... and so do their little sisters... but they are all happy with their teachers... having a good time with their friends... and ready to learn... I can't ask for much more than that!!  I love you girls!!

Heber Valley Campground...

I am behind again in my blogging... funny how fast that happens!!

A couple weekends ago a "few" of our good friends spent the night at the "Heber Valley Campground."  We had a great time!  What a beautiful area... the weather was perfect, everything was picturesque right down to the deer that bounded through our campsite!

Last year our Stake had Girls Camp here, I heard lots of good stuff about it so I booked a site that included 3 cabins (that sleep 16 each) complete with flush toilets, showers, pavilion and fridge for $125!!  I knew that we would be able to find people to share it with us...  we ended up wth 6 families... and it was definitely worth the $20/family for the night!!

(A view inside the cabin.)
Friday we did the "ropes course"... it was fun... we had to work together in groups to figure out ways to accomplish different tasks... but the highlight was the HUGE swing.  Even I did it... but not because I really wanted to... I just have kids that I don't want to have think that thier mother is a wimp... and this rope swing needed no stomach muscles at all!!  (Unlike a rope swing I blogged about a couple of years ago.) :)
Everyone else seemed to LOVE it...  but once was definetely enough for me!!
It was late when we got back to camp that night... we were more than ready to eat our tin-foil dinners that didn't finish cooking until around 9:30... but they were extra yummy!!

The next morning after a great pancake breakfast we all went down to the lake for some canoeing/paddle boats.  Even Lydia got to join in on the fun in our paddle boat... although she did fall asleep two minutes after we got in!
All too soon we had to pack up and go home... it was my idea of a great weekend... spending time with my family... being with good friends... eating yummy food... and no yardwork!!

We'll miss you Midnight...

5 years ago this week our sweet little animal lover Tayler convinced us to buy her this little bunny at the fair...
He grew bigger, but he was loved just as much...
Tonight Midnight died... the girls are so heartbroken... especially Tayler who could hardly be consoled.  Midnight was a great bunny... oh so soft and calm.  I will miss seeing the girls playing with him and taking him on walks with his "leash".

I was sad to see him go... but so much more sad to see my girls grieving for him... it broke my heart... :(

We'll miss you Midi...

Frogs...

My girls have come a long way since our last fishin' trip...
If you just viewed those hilarious videos from a couple years back you will know that wading through the mosquito infested ditch banks... barefoot... for the opportunity to catch little green frogs is a massive step...
I think it might be the highlight of Tayler's summer... Thanks Nate and Collin for introducing her to this new found hobby...  Tayler has gone more than once.. and she and Kelsee are determined to have a road side "frog sale" before the summer is over...

Tuckered out...

You know it's been a fun-filled summer day when you find your 3 youngest like this at 7 PM...
But then I also know that when they wake up from their "naps" at 9 PM... they'll be ready for a fun-filled summer night!

Reunions...

We had a busy weekend full of reunions and fun.  It started with a night at the Aquatics Center courtesy of our Insurance Company... apparently the entire valley was invited to this... because it was pretty much standing room only in ALL of the pools.  The kids didn't care of course they still had a blast.

The next day we had a Family Day with Shane's family at Crystal Hot Springs.  We had lunch and then headed over to the pools...  I haven't been to Crystal Hot Springs in YEARS (Shane swears that we've gone together before... but he must be confusing me with an old girlfriend because I have no recollection of that. :))
So I would say pre-marriage... but... it still looks... and smells exactly as I remember it.  Most likely it hasn't received any "Best of State awards".

I like most women don't love jumping in a swimsuit... but if you want to feel good about yourself...  head to Crystal Hot Springs. :)  Because if you have ALL of your teeth...  you'll be in the minority... and you might just get whistled at!
Bahahahahaha

Actually if it wasn't so blasted hot, I would have stayed fully dressed and headed back to the car to get my camera... I could have got some "unbelievable" shots!!  Like a 400 pound 60 year old man in a speedo... missing his front 4 teeth...  who called "c'mon momma" to his wife...  when he got out of the pool...
WOW... I didn't take a picture... but that image will be forever etched on my brain!!

Again... the girls had a fun time playing with cousins, and loved playing on the waterslide... but did remark that, "that was kindof a weird place."...  And they wouldn't even dip their toe in the "orange" mineral pool...

We had to hurry home to get ready for Shane's 20 year reunion... yep I know you can't believe it but this hottie was a 1990 graduate...
At least he graduated in the "90's"...  somehow those that graduated in 89' seem like a whole decade older... :)

And I bet Shane is going to be so excited when he sees I posted this picture...
bahahahaha!

Jadyn's Birthday...

I'm not sure how Jadyn went from this...
to this...
in only 4 short years.  What a joy little Jadyn has been in our lives.  We love, love, love this little even-tempered girl!

She had a fabulous birthday "weekend" with a family bbq and then a friend party the next day.  I love this age of kids they are all so cute and funny.  It's the age when kids don't "quite" understand the birthday party idea... like the fact that the present they brought is not for them...  One cute little girl kept asking me which present was for Jadyn, because the one she brought was for her.  But later on she came to me and said... "I think that one is actually for her."

Of course we took Jadyn to Texas Roadhouse... her favorite restaurant... to celebrate her B-day.

Earlier in the day we had this conversation...
"Jadyn if you want to go to Texas Roadhouse, you need to clean your room."
She headed into her room, then stopped and said...
"Well I don't want to clean my room... so I guess I'll just go to Costa Vida."
?????????????
That's our Jadyn! I think Saige ended up cleaning it for her... so Texas Roadhouse it was. :)

Her Birthday weekend was the 24th of July... and once again my beautiful girls rode on our cities float with Kaylee and Kelsee.
What a fun, fun day... that ended with fireworks that we watched from our backyard.  And of course Jadyn was SURE that they were putting the show on JUST for her!!!
