May 2023

May was cold and wet.
And pretty awesome too.

LOTS of things happened in MAY!

There were LOTS of GC golf matches since the entire golf season was crammed into 3 weeks due to the courses not opening until the last week of April haha.

There is nothing better than riding a cart around watching my girls golf... WHEN they are having a good round, or just a good attitude... and IF the sun is shining.

But there are a LOT of things better... if the weather is HORRIBLE... and/or they are feeling HORRIBLE about their golf game.  That's actually not much fun at all!

This season by May, the weather wasn't that bad.
In fact there were some beautiful days like this one.

But Jady's attitude wasn't that great.
She's a junior.
Last year as a sophomore she played varsity a couple times.
This year coach T never had her play varsity.
Truthfully, her team was REALLY good this year.
They took 2nd in State, 1st in region and did better as a team than they ever have.
If it had been any other year she definitely would have been playing varsity.
But she wasn't and she was frustrated... she would have been frustrated with her scores if she was playing varsity too. The season just wasn't long enough, to see the improvement she was making and she was not pleased with herself which carried over on every hole.
Golf is a weird mental sport.
I'm hoping she'll get some non-stressful time out on the course this summer to get out of her head!

Wedding planning was in full swing at our house.
It was all hands on deck for hand addressing invites!!

Tayler and Jadyn are building a new house!!
We're so excited for them.
A new baby and a new house at about the same time!

Mother's Day tacos, we love that Jeff "smokes" our meat for us!
It looks like this was the best picture we took for mother's day????

besides this cousin one haha

Lydia practicing for me.

Mia's very 1st dance review was a total success.
She's been doing the "Mommy and me" @ Tueller's Monday morning.
She didn't really start until about the end of February and actually Tayler teaches a Pilates class during Mommy and me.  So Nanny was taking Mia to Mommy and me.
That was fun!

Mia was a star.
I'm pretty sure she was the youngest in the class since she was 2 years and 2 weeks.
But she jazz walked right out to that x when they called her name.
The dance was pretty chaotic with LOTS going on but for her age and the distractions around her, this nanny thought she was prettyadorable!

She has ZERO personality.

and ZERO support.

We love you Mia!

Quincy's moms friends threw a shower for Kenna.
They got such great stuff!!

We visited our neighbors new foal.
(I just had to google what I should call a baby horse, foal is not a word I use often haha)
Mia loved it.

Elder Renlund came to our Stake for a special Stake Conference.
It was such a powerful meeting!

Fist bumps for all the youth...

and Sister Browning from the General Primary Presidency.

I finished this quilt...

Lydia's Aggies FC Season was in full swing.
They played fantastic together this year!

We had a fantastic turnout for Kenna's shower at our house.
The weather was perfect... and had NOT been up to that point so we were so happy it turned out so great!  It's so humbling to see how generous and good friends and family are to our girls.
I'm so thankful!!

Lydia worked so hard on her songs for her piano recital that was the same night as the shower and she did fabulous.  I'm so proud of her for the effort she puts in to her practicing and learning!!

Kenna's big day was fast approaching and she was a little apprehensive about going through the Temple but she did it.  I was so grateful Quincy took her back the next week when things could sink in more.  I hope she learns and more and more each time she goes and develops a testimony of the truthfulness of the covenants and principles taught there
What a beautiful day to have so many people there to support her!

Lydia has the cutest friends.
We're all so grateful that night games can start up again.
I'm pretty sure their "planned" night games were cut short this night for a bit, but I'm grateful to the mom who sent this.  Also grateful night games weren't at my house that night... cuz I would have been the one that had to tell those 3 boys standing on the wet cement in their socks that they had to take their disgusting socks off before coming back in my house...

There's always time for Mia fun at our house.

We visited Grandma and Grandpa Falslev's grave the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.

and drove down early Sunday morning for Karissa Wirthlin's (Laurie and Nephi's daughter) Farewell in Orem.  She's heading to Iowa and will be fantastic!

On our way home we drove to the Salt Flats... Fun fact.. I've never been there.
To take some dance pictures.
We'd brought all of their costumes for the annual dance review picture event.
Man that is an event.
It takes...
FOREVER!!
We spent about 4 hours there and only got 1/2 way through the costumes before we called it.

Lydia and I walked a LONG way out to touch the GREAT SALT LAKE just cuz I wanted to say that I had.

There she is.

Monday we went to Baby Animal Days @ the American West.
It's funny how I thought only a few years ago...
"we don't need to come to this anymore... my girls have outgrown it".
And just like that in like 4 years we're back at it again. hahaha

Mia loved it.
Of course we loved watching Mia love it.

Girls Camp was EARLY this year.
For the first time that I can EVER remember school got out on the Friday BEFORE Memorial Day. So Girls Camp started on the Tuesday after Memorial Day.

See that snow?
I'd say it was not time for camping yet.
But no one asked me. haha

Our Stake Camp was at Heber Valley this year.
Unfortunately for our family this was also Dance Review week... which is notoriously like the busiest week for us.
I was probably more sad than my girls about them missing camp.
I REALLY wanted them to go!
But they just couldn't do all of both.
So they ended up going up on Tuesday early am with our ward, missing the first TSOD technical rehearsal that day and then I drove the 2.5 hours up to have them home for dress rehearsal @ 4.
I thought about driving them back up the next day and making it back for the review but we started worrying about what if we got a flat or we got delayed somehow... was the 5 hours worth 6 hours up there?

Anyway in the end they had a great time for the time they were.
They missed out some important things I'm sure.
But we got them to as much as we could!

Plus really, we had a lot on our plate this week and the next so I was feeling a little overwhelmed anyway. haha

So that was May in a nutshell.
A REALLY BIG nutshell... cuz that was a lot of stuff haha.
