Bahamas 2020

When Lisa texts me that she has a trip idea.
I say, "I'm in!"
Just tell me where and when.
Her idea was Naussau in the Bahamas.

Now we've been to Naussau several times on cruises, but never "traveled" there.
And honestly I don't think I ever would have.
But gosh, we had a great time so we're glad we said yes!
(Actually I said yes, and never talked to Shane about it... so it ended up being his surprise Christmas present. haha)

We headed out on Friday, February 7th on a red-eye flight to Orlando... then a connection to Nausau the next morning.

We arrived at our gorgeous resort around 11 am.

It was beautiful!
And although it was an overcast day the weather was fantastic.

We did some exploring around our resort until our rooms were ready.

Ate some delicious Chinese food @ a somewhat sketchy restaurant with great reviews. :)

And checked into our rooms.
Great job Lisa!

That night was the first of our "Game Nights" but we turned in early due to the "Restful Red-Eye Flight" the night before.

The next morning we were picked up and taken to Bowcar Rentals where we had rented our "buggy" for the day.  We wanted to go to church and this was our ride.  The members who were all staring at us our the window when we pulled up said it was first time they'd ever seen that. Haha

I played the very dusty piano during sacrament meeting.
How'd that happen?  Well the chorister was having a hard time leading the music to the recording that was playing.  So Lisa volunteered me to the man in front.  Who happened to be the choir director so I just went up there and played... not professionally... but better than the recording I guess. ;)

We spent the rest of the day exploring the island.
It was beautiful and windy and not the greatest weather... but we sure had fun!

The next day we had a food tour booked.
We loved the one that we did in South Carolina and decided that's our new tradition.
It's a great way to try local cuisine, learn about the culture and eat delicious food.

I love birds...

The next two days the weather was fantastic.
We sat by the pool for hours each day, ate yummy food from the resort and relaxed.

We had such a great time!
Thanks Lisa, I'm ready for our next adventure whenever you are!

We had an early flight on Feb 13 to Orlando... with a 7 hour layover.

Of course we rented a car to go visit one of my favorite girls @ Disney Springs!!

Saige is loving her experience at DisneyWorld again.  I couldn't be prouder of that sweet girl, and it was sooooo good to see her... even if it had been less than three weeks!

We made good use of the last day of her 40% Disney merchandise discount... and ate a great lunch @ D-Luxe Burger.

Then we were back to the airport for our flight home.
I was super happy to find that all had gone well at home.
We had left Kenna in charge... with help from Tayler/Jaden.
They all seemed to have done just fine without us.
But I missed them!

And very quickly missed the sun we had enjoyed for those five great days.
Thanks for being our travel buddies Joe and Lisa!
