UEA weekend we road tripped to San Francisco.
It was a good time!
Tayler made us a video of course.
3 days of fun wrapped into 2.4 minutes!
(FYI Saige does NOT love that this is the cover photo shot hahahaha)

San Francisco from Tayler Falslev on Vimeo.
We headed out at 10:30 PM Wednesday night right after a great SV football game.
Which means we drove all night.
With no incident really, minus some minor navigational problems in Reno + hitting rush hour traffic crossing the Bay Bridge into San Fran the next morning... other than that we did great switching off driving, through the night.
We parked (which is not cheap) downtown, and where we learned that 3 miles in the city may take 40 minutes in a car... and then we found our friends!
We were ready for a great day, cuz everything is more fun with the Astle's!!
Lunch at...
YUM!
A walk along Fisherman's Wharf...
This picture just makes me laugh.
Lydia has a fear of chickens which she fully admits... but possibly she fears all winged creatures.
The guy who took our picture took at least 20... and Lydia's eyes followed these pigeons wherever they went, just in case of attack. :)
We are a big fun, crazy group... so we probably were noticeable when we all hopped on our bikes we rented from "Blazing Saddles." to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lisa and I aren't huge bikers...
but we managed!
Only a couple of short steep hills, the rest was pretty flat.
And quite enjoyable I might add!
We stopped for lots of pictures...
of course.
We weren't even "weak links" this girl and I!
My favorite picture, mainly cuz it was so cute and the guy who took this for us had a "friend" who thought it was hilarious to photobomb this great shot.
Not all that funny!
Not all that funny!
Jokes on him, I photoshopped him out... :)
We had a blast.
I'd highly recommend biking the bridge.
It took us a long time... like 4 hours start to finish.
But that included the ferry ride back to Fisherman's Wharf which we all were happy to hop on so we didn't have to ride all the way back!
Dinner at the Wharf.
A ride on the carousel....
And we were all ready to head to our hotel and get settled.
It had been a long 24 hours, but a super memorable 24 hours!
The next morning after a great breakfast at the hotel we headed back downtown.
We purchased an all day "trolley pass".
Waited more than an hour to get on the "trolley".
And never were able to get back on all day long!
(It was too full and never stopped for us)
(It was too full and never stopped for us)
That was sad. :(
We did take a couple pictures on idol "trolleys" the day before. hahahaha
And we enjoyed our trolley experience once we finally got on...
After the trolley ride... we took a brisk walk to catch the ferry to Alcatraz Island at our pre-scheduled time.
Our girls love Josh and Kayla.
We're so glad that they love them back!
The "Rock"...
We all LOVED the prison.
Even our little ones.
They loved that we had headsets to listen to the narration,
they were quite fascinated with the whole experience.
they were quite fascinated with the whole experience.
Joe looks right at home...
Ice cream...
Lombard Street...
Chinatown...
Shane loved it. hahaha
Thanks for Josh's great navigational skills getting us to this spot for a photo!
They say everyone has a "sign".
Lisa found hers! :)
We learned Lydia does not feel comfortable with monkey statues...
Jadyn does...
I guess she is the lesser known of the evils.
"Smell no evil."
"Smell no evil."
This was a fall break we won't soon forget!
(To be continued...)
