Disney Cruise... Day 1

Our Disney Cruise was...
in one word
MAGICAL!!

The next billion pictures will show what a great time we had...
but only sort of, because that's the thing about a Disney Cruise...
a lot of it is a feeling that can't be adequately described through pictures.

Why is a Disney Cruise better???
I really can't explain it, it's just plain magical.
Everything from the shows to the food to the ship decor and attention to detail in EVERYTHING.
The kids activities, the characters, sailing away parties, Disney music playing all the time.
Moments like finding Goofy on the deck and "working out with him".
Dance parties with all the characters.
Princesses.
Delicious food all the time.
etc. etc. etc.

And definitely awesome times with family.
AWESOME!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for taking us Mom and Dad.
Pretty much you guys are the best EVER!!

We'd been counting down...

And when January 16th finally came ALL of us were SOOOO excited!!

We left bright and early for the airport.

And before we knew it we had left our "frozen" land behind and we were in...

We got to the hotel.

Headed to dinner @ Tony Roma's.
And the girls were super excited when Steve, Paige and Tara arrived (they flew through Houston to pick up Tara).

The next morning...
we were ready.

We packed out...
And I mean that!

Seriously how did the pioneers come across the plains with 17 lbs per person... including bedding.
When we had about 70 lbs per person... for a week????

There was gasping and slight freak outs at the site of the Disney Fantasy!

We got checked in.

Took our first picture with Minnie...

And just like that we were on the ship...

We went straight to eat of course!

Then spent some time exploring the ship.

And our adjoining rooms...
Thanks mom and dad you spoil us! :)

The kids clubs are like the cutest places ever.
And since the 1st day is the only day the "big kids" can be there, they played.

And automatic hand washers?  That's about the coolest thing I've ever seen!

Jadyn was scared at first.
It must have reminded her of auto-flush toilets.
She was pretty ticked when we made her do it. :)

A couple hours in and everyone was on about their 3rd ice cream cone. hahahaha

4 PM came and it was time for the "Sailing Away Party".

These 2...
partners in crime, they didn't care if people were staring.
Or if they were THE ONLY ONES DANCING...
EVER! :)

Poor Lydia.
That morning she woke up not feeling well.
No fever, just tired and groggy and a runny nose.
And NOT herself!
This next picture is a pretty accurate description of how she felt.

She was sad for the 1st couple of days.
Then she was feeling better and she started into a cough.

She felt better, but did NOT sound better.  Grrrr
It definitely could have been worse though.

What cute grandparents!

It didn't take the girls long to test out the "Aqua Duck".
Super fun!!

Dinner  at "Animators Palate" that night.

So cute! "Turtle Talk with Crush" was on the screen behind us.

And we had our 1st Mickey Bars... with many more to come!
I think my mom goes on Disney cruises just for the Mickey Bars.
If I could find them in the store I would know what to get her for EVERY occasion!

A fabulous Welcome Aboard Show.

Then Saige and I participated in a "family" game show.

We won. ;)

So this bad boy now has a place on our mantel!!

And who doesn't want to end the day with a towel animal and chocolates on the bed?

That first day we all knew we were in for a fantastic week!!
