August meant our time was running out before school started back up again...
We finished off our week at Bear Lake with the WHOLE family there for the day, doint all our favorite things together.
Mia picks us "all at the park with her" as her favorite thing.
You can't tell from these pics, but she had found and "applied" Lydia's mascara and according to Mia was "looking beautiful". She was quite appalled when Tayler told her she needed to help her take it off. The rest of us agreed with how beautiful she looked, so much to her mother's dismay she sported her "beautiful look" the rest of the night. haha
Some of them might not ever get back on a merry go round...
I can't remember why now, but Mia did NOT want this picture, zoom in and no words would be needed to tell you that. haha
The next morning we cleaned up and headed home.
It was Megan Johnston and Garrett Dent's big day. We couldn't be more happy for the two of them!
Jadyn made their gorgeous cake.
She stressed and stressed over it... but OF COURSE it was PERFECT!!
Drill... man that's a time commitment haha.
They had a retreat up at Bear Lake at their coaches cabin.
I got roped into being a "mom helper" meaning a driver who drove the girls to and from the lake, to dinner etc. and 5 other moms stayed with me at the condo. Yes they were using me for the condo. Thanks mom and dad! It was fun, but I got a small glimpse into the drill mom life... similar to the dance mom life on a whole new level. ;)
The Athletic Kickoff + the Green and White Game was on August 9th. It was Lydia's first performance. They looked great!
Mia also performed with Cheer Kids Camp that night, so it was fun to be their for both.
The next day was Outside Day... not an easy one to plan cuz everyone was all over the place this summer, but it's always a fun time!!
An oldie but a goodie... spaghetti with not utensils or hands. haha
More drill pictures for our Lydia!
The Cache County Fair and Rodeo.
Max just being Max...
A Temple Trip weekend to hit some of the new Temples in Utah + those we hadn't made it to yet.
We left early Friday morning and went to Layton...
Taylorsville...
Saratoga Springs...
Shane met up with us and we headed to Mt. Timpanogus...
Orem...
Then the long drive to Vernal...
It was a long day but we fit all 6 Temples in!
We stayed the night in Vernal and woke up early to be to Dinosaur National Monument by 8 am when the Visitors Center Opened... we spent MAYBE one hour there and my not "so-in-to-dinosaur-bones girls" had seen enough so we hit the road for home!
But now we can say we've been there done that!
There were other visits to the Logan Temple...
here's Trey with his favorite cousins!
and a couple other times with Jadyn's friends.
So grateful that my girls + their friends help keep my baptism name stacks manageable!
School started before we knew it!
Lydia started on the 21st with Wolfpack Academy as a Freshman. That's a day earlier than the rest of the school comes to get freshman oriented to the school.
They still had drill that morning haha so thanks to the coach for taking their picture before leaving for their first day!
Her first REAL day of school pictures were taken AFTER school since she wasn't ready for school when she left for drill at 5:45 am.
I did get to see her perform in the opening assembly that day!
Friday Night Lights that weekend also included the "mini accalias" drill camp.
Little Mia and her friends performed.
Of course Lydia LOVED having her there!!
Jane and Lola Fisher
Monday the 26th Classes started at Utah State for Jadyn.
I'm excited for her and all the adventures that are before her.
She's looking forward to meeting new people through the Huntsman Scholar Program.
For Jadyn's Birthday I gave her + Lydia and me haha tickets to Joshua Bassett and Thomas Day.
Two of their FAVORITES!!
Lydia had to take a "DEMERIT" to leave drill early to get down to Sandy Ampitheater on time...
but Jadyn was NOT willing to be late!!
It was pretty much the dreamiest night of their lives when they got to shake his hand...
so the ticket prices were DEFINITELY worth the joy on their faces!!!
That night Shane flew out with my dad and brothers to Alaska (I'll do a seperate post for that) to go fishing... he wouldn't have liked the concert anyway. ;) It was for sure a "girl" thing.
August came and went far too fast.
Actually SUMMER came and went far too fast.
But we checked ALMOST everything off our bucket list so that seems like a success.
But I'm ready for a schedule and a LITTLE bit cooler temperatures so September is just the month for me!!
