July was busy.
Lydia, Jadyn and I had a total of SIX days at home.
Cuz between a week in California,
a week in Idaho,
a full week @ Bear Lake + a couple days at the first of the month.
There was just enough time to get home from each trip... put everything away, do all the laundry... then pack up and leave again.
It was fun and awesome.
But also OK to be home for a couple weeks. ;)
Tayler turned 26 this year on the 1st.
Kenna turned 20 on the 3rd.
We combined their cake on the 2nd... it's only fair that way.
Plus everyone was going all our own places and that was the only time we could find. haha
Jady knocked it out of the park again with her cake for them.
Tayler loved her "Valentine quilt".
4th of July... there isn't a scout breakfast anymore. ;)
That's been a tradition for as long as I can remember!
But it does mean that we get to attend the Allen's breakfast which is a pretty big deal.
ALMOST as many people at it as the scout breakfast.
I wanted a picture with Mia.
Mia didn't really want a picture with me.
But we got a few anyway.
She did NOT want one with Jadyn either. haha
It's hard being a princess.
That evening Shane and Lydia took a 4-wheeler ride together.
Sunday the 23rd Lydia, Jadyn and headed to Bear Lake.
Jadyn tended all of the mornings for the Davis' @ the Pickleville Workshops.
(except Tuesday her birthday when Kenna came up to do it.)
It worked out great to be up there already!
Monday afternoon these 7 friends came up to help her celebrate her birthday.
They had a great time... and fit most everything Bear Lake wise in, in the 24 hours they were there.
It was also a goodbye to her favorite guys... Thomas, Joseph and Paul who ALL left on their missions two weeks later.
What a great group of friends!
Now we'll jump all the way down to Saturday the 22nd... when we celebrated Jadyn's 17th birthday with a BBQ.
Tuesday (Jadyn's Birthday) we headed home to spend some time in Logan. Lydia wanted to make it to her last two days of summer dance... AND there was a pool party for Academy Dance that she definitely did NOT want to miss.
And that night we also had a BBQ to celebrate Jadyn's 17th Birthday.
Cute Saige made her cake this time.
And Saige and Keaton couldn't even be there.
BTW... Mia loves the newest addition of the "bounce house."
We headed back up to Bear Lake Wednesday afternoon.
And fit in some puzzle time and movies... that's about it!
Thursday afternoon Shane took these 2 on a two-hour drive each way from Bear Lake to the Afton Wyoming Temple for Baptisms.
They are REALLY checking those Temples off this summer!
I stayed back at the condo on Family Search for about the whole five hours they were gone. haha
Friday night we had the ENTIRE family together.
I don't think that had happened since a month previous @ the family reunion with all of our busy travels schedules!
Tayler and Jadyn didn't stay the night,
but the other two married couples did.
Saturday was spent playing pickleball and swimming @ the diving board pool that was finally OPEN!
a couple games, a good cleaning of the condo and ice cream at the store.
And then we were off for home.
Bear Lake is THE best.
Thanks Mom and Dad!
July ended with an afternoon @ the Elkridge Splash Pad for these two goons.
Gosh I adore that little Mia.
Want to know why Nanny looks for Pez every store she goes into...
and even buys them on line??
and just like Saige said in response... I WILL MOVE HEAVEN AND EARTH TO GET THIS GIRL MORE PEZ... and within 20 minutes there were pictures of the pez that Saige and Keaton had coming for her with the caption... "heaven and earth moved".
Tayler was a tad bit embarrassed. ;)
But we'd do anything for that girl!
She now asks me every time she comes over... "you have more pez for me Nanny??"
Yes Mia... I do!!
Or after I gave her all 7 of the seven dwarfs Pez... she looked at me and said... "Do you have Snow White????"
Please... if anyone sees a Snow White Pez you've got to let me know!!
(Update we found Snow White in the Dallas Airport on our way to Louisina ;))
