March 2023

The month started out with the Tueller's Performing Showcase on the 4th.
Lydia and Jadyn both did great... and were ready for competition season to begin!!

March had two weekends of "Academy" Dance Competitions/Conventions.

The first was March 10-11... HDJ - Hollywood Dance Jamz @ the Ogden Convention Center.

This was our first year doing Academy and it meant, more time, more dances, more $ and hotel stays for the two of us.

It was fun to have that time together and I think Lydia loved learning at the conventions and getting closer to her dance friends.  They did great at the competitions... but it was also good for her to see some seriously great competition against them!

The Ogden Convention Center is connected to the Eccles Theater where cute Kate had her dance competition.  So she and her friend ran over to say hi to Lydi.

Annie Gratton and Jordan Dodderer

The 2nd Competition/Convention was March 17-18 LADM - LA Dance Magic @ the Provo Conference Center.

Then there was our first "regular" competition weekend in Roy.

There was Lydia's FIRST school ski day.
We're glad we put Lydia in the Chinese program... but she's definitely missed out on some things.
Field trips is one of them.
They just don't have time to do them and I think she's taken MAYBE 2 in her whole school career.
Being in 7th grade she finally got a school ski day @ Beaver.
Shane met her and her friends up there and they had fun together on a very powdery morning since Beaver had got about 20" the night before.

We had our annual St. Patrick's Day dinner a little early on March 12th.
Corned Beef and Cabbage...
some like this annual meal... some could pass hahaha.

Bust most of us LOVE it!!

Prom dress shopping with my Jady @ the Mall

Lots of Mia time...

There was a dance performance at Ridgeline one night...

PLUS sweet little Mia started doing Mommy and me.
Except that Mommy teaches High during Mommy and me.
So Nanny took Mia to Mommy and me a few times.
Gosh time is weird... cuz I swear I was just there with her Mommy.

Jadyn had a Girls Camp YCL retreat... it was supposed to be at Bear Lake, but like most weekends in March there was a big storm.  So it was changed to a stay at Emily Crane's house instead.  There was snowshoeing and lots of girl time.

Wow, thought this day would never come.
Kenna finally is done with braces, invisalign, an expander, mouth guard etc.

It's honestly been 7.5 years of HER life.
And more than $10,000 of OUR $$$$.
So we have definitely both looked at it from two different perspectives.

(In between it all we switched orthodontists and won't be recommending our first.)

She did NOT like having to have her braces redone...
for obvious reasons.

But her parents did NOT like having them redone either... for obvious reasons that didn't seem nearly as important as her reasons have been... to her.

And us reminding her that if she would actually WEAR her invis-align instead of leaving them sitting on the counter all day.  (which really pissed her off) and her complaining after every appointment when they gave her more trays and she couldn't figure out why (which really pissed us off).

Let's just say.
It was a happy day for one and all!!

This might have been one of the only appointments Dr. Thomson didn't see her cry...
or ALMOST cry. haha

Jadyn tried out for Green Canyon Exec in March.
Gosh dangit she is the cutest girl of all time.
Her skit was ADORABLE.

She didn't make it.
And we were all heartbroken for her.

Our Jady is soooo loved and friends and family were so very, very kind and good to her that weekend.
It was beautiful.

There's one thing about Jady... and that's that through the heartbreaks of high school she now knows how to love others... and she knows how to empathize with them.
The next week when more of her friends got cut... she was right there to love and comfort them.
I am so proud of her.

She's a super strong girl who has learned a lot.
Even when we didn't want her to have to.

She put herself out there again and tried out for Green Canyon Ambassadors.
It was emotional... she was sick and missed information about the interview and felt like she didn't present herself well... but she made it.
And we COULD NOT BE HAPPIER FOR HER.

And what makes it even better is that so many of her friends will be doing it with her too so it will be fabulous for her!!

Shane took a super quick trip to Tokyo for a Temple carpet repair... like it was literally a 5 hour job. + one night in a hotel  + 20 hours travel time each way. Which ended up being a day longer because his tools/luggage didn't make it on the plane...

Since we were all heading out on trips for Easter we did some early Easter egg dyeing at the end of March.

We loved when Poppa came over and created a couple with our "Egg"mazing egg decorator.
He was definitely "Amazed".
Grams joked we could give him that in the nursing home and it would totally keep him occupied.
It was kindof funny... but not really hahaha

March was a good one...
We were sure that we were pretty much done with snow and heading into SPRING.
Of course we were all prepared for regular Cache Valley weather with warm weather... then a little snow.

But nope... March did NOT go out like a lamb this year. haha
