UEA 2018 was a pretty awesome one.
The Monday before UEA started, we picked Kenna, Jadyn and Lydia up early from school and headed to the SL airport.
We had some giddy little girls on our hands... they'd been looking forward to this for months.
Before we knew it we were in Orlando and on our way to pick up Saige at her work for our week together.
Saige has been working at Disney World since September 5th... she'll be there until January 3rd with the "Disney College Program". Basically a paid internship and chance to work for Disney.
She works at a quick service restaurant called "Captain Cook's" in the Polynesian Resort.
What a fantastic experience this has been for her!
She has 4 cute roommates and she has grown super close to them. They spend all their free time visiting all four Disney parks, exploring the 30+ resorts that are on Disney property etc. etc.
Saige was made for Disney and is the PERFECT "cast member".
Always going out of her way to notice things about people, point out their birthdays (Disney gives you a pin on your birthday and Saige can spot those from a mile away), she's a people person through and through! She even keeps an "autograph book" at work and has the little dressed up princesses sign it.
My favorite part of the trip was seeing her in her element! Doing what she just does.
Hey... do you think we SCORED on the house we chose???
Seriously amazing... a brand new 4 bedroom/4 bath house with a swimming pool and TONS of space for $197/night (including taxes and cleaning)!!!
That was a steal!
We arrived late... about 1:30 AM.
But we were all awake and chipper... unpacking, chatting and having so much fun catching up with Saige that it was around 3 AM when we got to bed.
Joe and Lisa had taken the red-eye and got in around 4:30 AM... sadly they got SUPER lost on the way to our place. Of course I didn't wake up to Lisa's frantic texts and FINALLY around 7:30 they made it.
Our family was up and getting ready because we had all planned on leaving for Hollywood Studios @ 8. We waited until 9 so Joe could get an hour nap in... on the floor of the closet haha
We were all pretty tired, but did just fine until we sat down for shows at Hollywood Studios.
They were a great chance to get in from the heat and take a short siesta... at least for us older folks!
What an awesome day it was though!!
(PS Tayler and Jaden didn't come until our 4th day... Friday morning. That's why they aren't in the first few days of pictures. ;))
Day 1... HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
Toy Story land was so cute!
We met Olaf...
When we went together to Disneyland in November of 2014 with the Astle's.
There was one ride that Jadyn did NOT like... it was Tower of Terror.
(Actually there were 2 rides... she also didn't like Splash Mountain hahahahaha)
We'll never forget how she wouldn't speak to us for more than an hour after we made her go.
Even Joe and Josh couldn't get her to speak.
She did much better this time. ;)
Rockin' Roller Coaster was super fun.
Another of my favorite parts of Disney World was that since this was Kenna, Jadyn and Lydia's first time here... everything was so new and exciting. + our family is old enough that everyone could go on every ride... no more parent swap!!
When we first started going to Disneyland when Tayler and Saige were little, Shane and I were the type that took enough snacks to last through lunch and ate something small for dinner... or left the park to eat.
But guess what...
Disney has the BEST food!!!
And thanks to instagram and the "Disney Hungry" account... we had a list of food that we HAD to try. But way more things than we could try.... haha
Yes Disney food is overpriced... but not TOO overpriced.
We get random snacks throughout the day and most we can share.
We usually forgo lunch for Disney snacks + we still fill a backpack with snacks from home but...
Yum Yum Yum!
(Shane actually forgot to grab the backpack full of snacks... so we had more snacks than usual from the park this day... most not pictures ;))
Hollywood Studios was a great way to start our week.
If I was ranking the 4 parks, I would put this one in 4th place.
But that doesn't mean it wasn't a blast!!
We ended the day eating at Saige's restaurant... Capt. Cook's.
She had to leave us at the park around 2 to go to work.
We planned it just right so we could take her home with us when she got off @ 10 PM.
We LOVED the nachos on wonton chips.
Thanks for the recommendation Saige!
Isn't she the cutest little worker?!?
Yep... we all slept great that night!!
But we were off to the park again for another great day @ 7:30 AM ;)
