Homecomings...

Throwing it back to Homecoming week.

First there was USU's Homecoming Parade.

Saige and Kenna were in it and super adorable of course...

Jadyn and Lydi enjoyed watching... and grabbing the candy that was coming at them in handfuls.
(proof of the candy being dished out!)

Tayler had to miss out on being in the parade with Tueller's this year, she was off decorating for SV's Homecoming the following week.

Homecoming week was busy for Tayler.
Tons of fun activities and dress-up days.

North Cache got in on the fun with the dress-up days as well.
My girls have NEVER been nervous about dressing up like idiots on dress-up days.
I'm just saying I'm not sure that I would have dared wear this outfit that Saige pulled together for 80's day...
and yes, I went to school in the 80's. haha
(A shout out to my dad for the sweet shirt)

But there were a few more "normal" dress-up days for her too.

There was more candy at the SV parade...  :)

A fun football game.
My parents came... my mom wore red.
She audibly gasped when I walked out wearing my I {heart} SV shirt!!
Sorry Mom...

Then there was Tayler's 1st Homecoming Dance.
So fun finding her a dress.

She looked gorgeous I must say...

Thanks to Rachel for helping with her hair SUPER last minute. :)

She had a fabulous time with this lucky guy.  ;)

I asked myself the following question for the 50th time that week...
Are Shane and I seriously old enough for all of this yet?????
apparently...

A happy heart...

There's a lot of things that make my heart happy...
and about 95% of them involve my family.

Things like...

Having my parents over for dinner to celebrate "Grandparents Day".

Having super helpful kids, like Jady who LOVES to wash the dishes, does some almost everyday...

Real safely... Like this...

I suggest every time that she pull up a bar stool,
but she likes it this way,
and she's doing the dishes so...
have at it girl!

And when Shane comes home early from work and Lydia is soooo excited that someone will finally have a tea party with her!

Or that time everyday when Lydi and I get the mail, and she tells me that she doesn't need any help, and I follow behind picking up what she drops...

And how she has learned to write her name at "Crayon Corner Preschool".
Be still my heart!

And how she was so super excited to be "Super Star" at preschool AND bring her best friend and cousin Trey home to play with her for hours.  So very happy they live here now.

Oh, by the way.  Need a new dentist?  Call my brother...  Dr. Jeff Wegener... he's accepting new patients. :)

Nothing cuter than these two playing together!

"

But story time comes pretty close.

And "snacktime" with sisters after school.

And when Jadyn held this puppy...
anyone know Jady?  Cuz she doesn't hold puppies!
Good job Jadyn!

And when Lydia picks me flowers...
straight from the yard...
roots and all.
and I say, "o, we usually don't pick flowers from the yard, but..."
Then I see that cute, "super excited to give a gift"  face get a little nervous and I tell her she can pick me flowers anytime...

Just because she is that adorable...

So happy she gets to come with me to see Tay in the pep rally's.

And that our "family nights" look a little like this sometimes...

And when Kenna made that "game winning" serve in her volleyball game last week... that was actually her last "8 perfect serves" that won the match!!!

And that there are cute big sisters to take a minute to teach the younger ones how to catch the first snowflakes of the year on their tongues.

So thankful that my children are healthy...

...that they have super awesome friends...

And that we're a Forever Family.

I have a happy heart today.

So excited for a weekend filled with beautiful messages from our prophet and leaders at General Conference.

Last week during visits to see Shane's sweet 85 year-old momma at Sunshine Terrace...

She said this...
"There's so much in this world to live for, it's just fun to be alive!"

She has a happy heart, so grateful for her example to my girls!!
