Tayler is 16...

It happened...

The day Tayler has had a countdown for on her phone for approximately an entire year... finally came.

July 1st 

our little girl...

turned 16!

How did that happen??????

 

The 1st thing on her list for the day was getting her license.

So... after a 2 hour wait at the drivers' license place she drove away legal in her little yellow car.

She's a pretty good driver for the most part...

But the incident that I witnessed  2 days later caused me to question that.

 I was following her home from Kenna's party with Kenna's friends,

I was in the car right behind her.

Tayler had 3 of her 4 sisters with her.

 and...

I watched her make a left turn right in front of on-coming traffic... cutting right in front of the driver coming behind her too.  Frantic honking from both drivers and I just sat there in shock watching 4 of my childrens' lives flash before me.

We had a little chat when we got home, she still hadn't quit shaking from the "incident".

So... I'm excited to have another driver... yet... 

not!

That night a party with a few friends...  :)

(Around 40 off and on throughout the night)

So grateful for cute friends in her life.

 

I fed them dinner,

they played games,

had a great game of kickball,

watched "Wreck it Ralph" on a projector outside,

and did sparklers.

 

 

She was happy.

And grateful for a perfect night.

Her party was Monday...

and she finished out the rest of the week with 4 dates...

with super cute, nice boys.

Needless to say she likes being 16...

Yet her dad and I still think she is about 6,

so this whole "independence" thing could pose a problem!!
