Our week in NYC!!

Months and months ago the girls dance school started talking about the trip they would be taking to NYC to attend the "Tremaine dance convention/competition".

Shane protested very little.

But wasn't completely excited about the idea either.
He was a little jealous...  Jealous that he was staying home with the little ones, oh, and that Lisa would be joining us on this trip instead of him.

But he was a good sport and took great care of my 3 little girls...
and a big thanks to the many other people he pawned them off on while he was working.

After my 30 minutes of sleep the night before...
The flight to NY zipped by, Tayler and I were "catching flies" according to Saige.

We arrived in the big city and took our first taxi ride.  Our driver only honked once...
Which was far better than the taxi ride back to the airport.  With our totally distracted driver who was falling asleep AND texting!!!  That was scary!!

We arrived at our hotel... and hit the town!
That is our hotel in the distance right next to Grand Central Terminal.

{Kindof} Funny thing Saige could NOT remember that name...
it was either Big Central, New York Central etc.
But then she also thought that New York was, "Pretty close to the Dakotas."  And was most excited to see the "Eiffel Tower."  Which she was confusing with the "Statue of Liberty."

I only had to tell her about 10 times a day to, "Put your brown hair on Saige!!"

We walked around Manhattan AMAZED at all the people, the busyness, and bustle, and all the CRAZIES!

We decided to go to a show that night...   Sister Act, starring Raven Seymone.

It was really good and it was fun to see our first "Broadway Show".  But when I think of how much it cost... and the fact that I slept through most of it because I must not have got as much sleep on the plane as I thought...  I feel a little bad!  :(  I think the girls enjoyed it though!

The next 3 days were filled with Dance stuff.  Class after class, a great competition, and lots of learning.  Lisa and I watched most of it... she was such a good sport to sit through it all, and we picked up a few moves of our own that Tayler and Saige are not nearly as impressed with as we are. :)

There was a big group there from Tueller's!

The girls did AWESOME in the competition.  Saige got 3rd in her division with her Domino number that they did all year.

Tayler was stoked that she would get to perform in Tueller's hip hop number "Riding Hood" in NYC.
For the short amount of time that they had to pull it together with mostly new dancers they did AMAZING!!

1st place in their division... and in my opinion they should have got "Best of Show"!

Tayler was a wolf... a very fierce wolf who played her character... very well!

(I wish I could figure out a way to get the video on here, but it's in a weird format!)

You rocked it girls!!

After all the dance stuff (and during actually) we found plenty of yummy places to eat.

We were always glad when we could "find a table to sit at" instead of having to "stand".  We learned what a "table vulture" is and found ourselves doing the same thing... hovering over a table waiting for them to leave.

The girls were freaking out that JB was in New York at the same time as us!
Nope... never ran in to him... they both would have passed out!

We saw Times Square...

Shopped and shopped and shopped.
Shane does NOT like this part of our trip I'm sure.
But the girls are TOTALLY set for school! :)

One morning we woke up early and went to...

Where we saw these people...

and even got our 2 seconds of fame as they put us on the "air" waving frantically!

Tayler and Saige had NO idea what the today show was...
Yet Saige was enthusiastically yelling...  "I love you Al Joker!!"  We had to inform her it was Al Roker... not Joker!  But Savannah who she kept yelling to that she was "beautiful" and that "she was her biggest fan".  Thought she was so sweet, and came to see us twice. :)

The 4 of us had fun together, oh so much fun together!

We walked MILES each day...
One day we went to Central Park and hired a pedicab on Deon's recommendation.

The poor guy we stopped said that he could take us all.

He was strong REALLY strong to take us up and down those hills in a pedicab meant for 2... maybe 3... but we had 4!

And my view looked a little like this...

:)

He stopped a few places for us...
mainly I think he was needing a break.

After our hour was up we had our best snack ever...
from a truck called "waffles and dinges".
DELICIOUS!

Then it started to rain...
fairly hard.

We had a very long ways back to the hotel.
Tayler was freaking out a bit that her "yellow toms" were getting dirty.
So... she took them off and walked the 20 blocks back to our hotel in the pouring rain and filthy streets... barefoot!!

That is some serious devotion to her shoes!!

The next day we took a bus tour with the entire Tueller group.
There were a lot of us...
2 buses full.

The girls.
This is at Battery Park... and the closest that we got to the Statue of Liberty.

Unless you count this...

We saw Ground Zero...  but I was really bummed that we didn't get a closer view or see any of the actual memorials.

And then later in the week after trying the "lottery" 2 times we bought tickets to mine and my girls favorite thing of the week...
WICKED!!

It was SO amazing and the soundtrack has been heard in our house everyday since!!

New York was amazing filled with some seriously crazy stuff.
Tayler made a great list each day...
Some things were sad.
And some things were down right disgusting and will not be spoken of on this blog!

A few I will post are...

Parking...

A nice view of the Statue of Liberty, but notice that guy on the right.... ?

And Bryant Park...
it's about 3 times as big as our backyard...
Filled with hundreds of people.
Doing totally random stuff...
As we looked around we saw a dance class going on, a man doing yoga in a headstand, couples making out right next to family picnics. etc. etc etc

New York was SO much fun!
A perfect girls trip.
We saw so much.
Laughed a ton.
Made tons of memories.
And will never forget it.

Some people say they could live there.
Not me!
I love my nice quite life with a private backyard...
but loved the visit!

So happy to get home and see my little girls and my good hubby!
