Christmas and Birthday wrap-up...

Christmas came and went all too quickly...
and is it just me or does Christmas seem like it was forever ago?

We had fun together on Christmas Eve, after a yummy dinner at our house (with my parents, Andy/Missy and Steve) we were left with our little family for Christmas Eve.

And we felt busy trying to fit all the "Christmas Eve traditions in"...
Chime playing
Story reading
Our attempt @ the Nativity story

Making cookies for Santa
(Plate arranged and designed by Jady...
one carrot for Santa to give to each reindeer, then she remembered and added one for rudolph.)

Oh, and the chocolate chips and little cup are for Simon... our elf who came to visit us from the North Pole!

Boy did my little girls ever love that guy, they were so excited to check each morning to see where he might be, and if he ate the treat they left him.  They were sad that we had to say goodbye to him until next Christmas.
(Obviously Santa needs him at the North Pole to prepare for next year!)

Christmas Day was fabulous.
I loved having Christmas on a Sunday this year our Christmas Program was beautiful!
Then the girls were pretty excited about all their gifts.

And we spent the rest of the Christmas Break doing pretty much nothing...
I felt somewhat lazy, but that's OK sometimes right??

One thing we did do over the break was celebrate our little Lydia's 2nd Birthday!!
Can't believe she is already 2!!

Pretty sure we'll think of her as the baby forever...
she is still pretty little though weighing in at a whopping

23 lbs (15th percentile)
and 31" (5th percentile)

She was all funny and serious at her party...
(until everyone left of course!)
and worked REALLY hard at blowing those candles out,
then let her sisters help her finish the job.

We sure do love that girl!

We also love our one guy in the house!!

A couple days ago he celebrated the big
4-0!!
So glad I'm not as old as him... hahahahaha

Of course I threw a surprise party for him which was totally a surprise to him!

And like usual he was a totally good sport.
(Oh and do you like his purse?  He ran back to get it for me in the car and he must have forgotten it was on his shoulder... he is 40 now I guess...:))
We hooked him up with all the stuff a 40 year old needs...
And had a great time with these people.
I love you Shane.
I'm one lucky girl to have you!

O and speaking of birthdays AND girls..
on Shane's birthday... thanks to Jeff and Kimi...
we got an adorable new niece.

Meet Kate McKinley.
wish she was closer so we could cuddle that 9lb cutie :)

I'm going to make a prediction - Kate will outweigh Lydia by 9 months old!
