My children have an obsession...
It started out small...
(with a little encouragement from our fun-loving neighbors Joe and Josh.)
But it's grown larger over the last few months...
It's over this hot babe with all the skills...
Yep, Napoleon Dynamite...
When the movie first came out, Shane and I watched it and didn't think it was all that funny. It's a movie that grows on you... and now just the thought of it makes me laugh out loud.
Tayler recently told me, "her life would be complete if she could meet Kip and Tina (the llama)."
I told her she had "really big plans for her life!"
But...
Last Sunday we went on a pilgrimage to see the Napoleon Dynamite sites...
and although we didn't see Kip or Tina, we did see...
Trisha's house...
Pedro's house...
AND Napoleon's house...
(which Jadyn wouldn't get out at... because she was afraid Napoleon would come out and talk to us...)
We saw other movie spot sites...
And of course stopped in to pop'n'pins... the bowling alley.
(talked to your parents Tiffany!)
The girls signed the guest book... and they were the 3rd Napoleon Dynamite fans for the day!
Of course they needed a photo with a tether-ball pole... pretty sure it wasn't the exact one... but they didn't seem to care.
Kenna asked if we could get one for our yard... because I guess we are big tether-ball players now?????
We had fun!
Of course the girls in our car (Jadyn rode with Lisa and Joe) watched the outtakes, on "disc 2"... all the way up and back. It makes me smile to hear the kids laughing hysterically with their headphones on.

One of the outtake scenes is the inspiration for this "sweet" drawing Tayler did for her cousin Paige.
Paige busted up... and Tayler was sure to say...
"It pretty much took me like 3 hours to finish the shading on his upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done."
Everyone is impressed with Saige's "Kip" skills...
she's great at them. Guessing she knows ALL his lines by now... she even sings his Technology song.
I can tell a difference in what my little girls are exposed to now that there are older girls around...
here's a classic example.
I vividly remember that Tayler didn't watch anything other than PBS until she was like 8 years old... And we had to skip through any scene in a Disney video with a villain until about... last year!
But now I have a 4-year old, talking like Napoleon Dynamite saying things like...
"Tina, you fat lard... come eat your stinkin' dinner."
Go figure...

Hilarious. I laughed out loud at that last part!
I also am laughing out loud.... That is great!!!! I just can't imagine Jadyn saying that. I can't believe you and Shane didn't think ND was funny when you first saw it. Rich and I about died laughing. Maybe if you don't live in that area anymore it makes it even funnier, or if you have actually been to the Ritewood egg farm.... Or played tetherball in elementary school recess after recess.... Whatever!!! Glad it makes you laugh now!!!!
HAHAHA LOVE THIS!!! Luke does NOT find this movie to be funny AT ALL, but I LOVE IT!! I wish I had Kip and Napoleon's skills ha ha :) And my text message noise used to be "Tina you fat lard come get your dinner!!" and it put a smile on my face every time it went off :D
That really cracks me up. My dad & nephew told me you stopped by. I was so confused who would stop by that knew me and Andy. I have to agree it is a movie that grows on you. :)
