I am behind again in my blogging... funny how fast that happens!!
A couple weekends ago a "few" of our good friends spent the night at the "Heber Valley Campground." We had a great time! What a beautiful area... the weather was perfect, everything was picturesque right down to the deer that bounded through our campsite!
Last year our Stake had Girls Camp here, I heard lots of good stuff about it so I booked a site that included 3 cabins (that sleep 16 each) complete with flush toilets, showers, pavilion and fridge for $125!! I knew that we would be able to find people to share it with us... we ended up wth 6 families... and it was definitely worth the $20/family for the night!!
(A view inside the cabin.)
Friday we did the "ropes course"... it was fun... we had to work together in groups to figure out ways to accomplish different tasks... but the highlight was the HUGE swing. Even I did it... but not because I really wanted to... I just have kids that I don't want to have think that thier mother is a wimp... and this rope swing needed no stomach muscles at all!! (Unlike a rope swing I blogged about a couple of years ago.) :)
Everyone else seemed to LOVE it... but once was definetely enough for me!!
It was late when we got back to camp that night... we were more than ready to eat our tin-foil dinners that didn't finish cooking until around 9:30... but they were extra yummy!!
The next morning after a great pancake breakfast we all went down to the lake for some canoeing/paddle boats. Even Lydia got to join in on the fun in our paddle boat... although she did fall asleep two minutes after we got in!
All too soon we had to pack up and go home... it was my idea of a great weekend... spending time with my family... being with good friends... eating yummy food... and no yardwork!!
