Sadly... we had to leave Hawaii :(:(:(
...we will always remember the fabulous time we spent there... I'm feeling a little jealous that Shane will be returning shortly to install carpet in the Laie Temple... but then nobody is going to feel too bad for me this time I'm sure!!
Just in case you thought I only took a few pictures in Hawaii... I decided I better post a few more of "the best ones" from the 1500 on my camera!! (not even joking!)
so...
We spent two fantastic nights at the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower...
I liked getting up early and watching my hot hubby and awesome Daddy surf right from our deck! Even after we moved to our other condo they still drove in to Waikiki almost every morning. (Tayler and Saige went with them one of those mornings). Shane was hurting at first... (actually more like bawling like a baby!) and he was not ashamed to let my Dad know that he was in MUCH better surfing shape than him!!
We were sad to leave Waikiki but quickly recovered on arriving at Marriott's Ko'Olina Resort...
I wouldn't mind waking up to this view every morning... for the rest of my life!!
We spent a glorious week here... The lagoons were so much fun... and what child wouldn't want to swim in one of three pools like this... with a waterslide and waterfalls??
Ours certainly enjoyed it!!
We spent as much time as we could taking it all in... unlike my parents who take a very different Hawaii vacation than us... My mom is content to sit on her lanai and crosstitch... my dad... well after sufing he was good for a nap and family history stuff on the computer... throw in a good book... and round after round of "3 - 13" (a card game) add fantastic food in to the mix and they are in heaven. I'm not sure my mom ever set foot on the beach???
But we all were very, very happy!!
The girls liked climbing the palm trees... pretty much everything about palm trees... what's not to like about a palm tree?
We were excited that we got to visit with my niece Nikki who lives on Oahu... She has a sweet new baby boy named Carlos and came to visit us for the day. She pointed out that I was now a great aunt... which makes me sound old... until you hear that I was a great aunt at the age of 20 when Shane's nephew who is 3 months older than him... had his first child!! Which makes Carlos my 19th GREAT niece/nephew... Creepy huh!!
We had a fun little picnic... and of course took a few pictures!!
We visited the Dole Plantation Plant... rode the train and enjoyed our pineapple dole whip!
The girls made their own "leis".
Lydia looked adorable with a flower behind her ear... not that she doesn't ALWAYS look adorable!
...and I don't know about you... but to me this picture says... "Don't you dare take one more picture Mom!"
We visited Pearl Harbor... and were too late in the day to go the Arizona Memorial :(
Lydia had her first swim...
and was a complete angel the whole trip!!
We tried taking a few family pictures with the timer... not an easy task!!
Oh, and we were a COMPLETE spectacle with our five girls!! We had at LEAST 10 comments PER DAY about the fact that we had 5 girls. Some congratulating us on how beautiful and well behaved they were... many directed to Shane about "how sorry they felt for him." :) And one man even offered advice on how to get a boy???? ...That was REALLY odd!! Kindof an akward moment when he announced that in front of our children...
But... in the world's defense... we were the only family that we saw with 5 girls the entire trip... maybe we are like a circus... but we quite like it that way!!
Throughout the trip we ate lots of Hawaiin shaved ice... why is it that Hawaiin shaved ice is so much better than Utah shaved ice???
And truly had more fun than we had even imagined!!
Thanks again mom and dad for such a wonderful trip!
It was an awfully great way to start out our Summer!!

I love all your photos Aunt Angie!! I'm so glad that we got to see you while you were here and I'm super excited to see you again in a couple weeks :) Love ya!
I will admit it--I am so envious. Your trip looks and sounds like heaven. Amazing photos, as usual!!
I must admit...the photography class...and the not inexpensive photgraphic equipment... was worth every cent. I love those girls...and those photos are a treasure.
Ang I LOVE that picture of Lydia in her little sun hat. So adorable! And all your girls... well what can I say, they are all so stinkin cute! So excited to see you guys next week!
We had a "way" fun time with you guys. Love your photos. Thanks for coming with us.
Love, Mom
That sounds way fun and warm. Saige is so lucky to have her 11th birthday in Hawaii. Can we play sometime? Your girls are great dancers.
amazing! i am so so jealous. i too could wake up every morning to views like that and NEVER EVER grow tired of it. i cannot believe people felt bad for shane and tried to give him advice on HOW to have a boy. ha!! don't they know that 5 beautiful, healthy children, whether boy OR girl, are truly a blessing!??! your girls are SUPER cute, BTW. they should've been envious of shane and all his girls. ;)
