We are home from Oregon now and back to the daily grind... But we will always remember our fun Oregon experiences...
Having an Easter Egg Hunt on the Beach!!
A picture of all the kids ready to go searching...
We wanted to go down to the Sea Lion Caves... but decided against the long drive and cost of admission... and opted to see them on the Newport Docks for FREE!
We visited a glass blowing studio... that was cool to see them making bowls, floats, paper weight starfishes etc. We really wanted to find one of the glass floats that they hide on the beach in Lincoln City, but we never did. :(
The kids spent lots of time on the Wii... (Maybe too much!) It was good during stormy times though... and all of us... including the adults took a turn with Dance Dance Revolution.
Several nights were spent playing "Werewolfes". (Similar to Mafia or Murder in the Dark.) It doesn't seem like it would be fun, but with our big group it was a perfect game that we couldn't get enough of!
All the guys AND awesome Deon went deep sea fishing... I kindof wanted to go but was nervous about the rough seas... plus I did have kids to take care of! :)
They caught LOTS... We are looking forward to a big Fish Fry soon. (After all that fishing, none of them wanted to cook any of it there!) But we did enjoy the 6 crab they caught... unfortunately crabbing wasn't great because of all the big storms...
It sounded like Deon took the brunt of the sea-sickness... She looks fully recovered on solid ground though, with her tasty friend!
I REALLY wanted to go on a little hike I had heard about... the problem was that it was quite a long drive... raining off and on... and very muddy! I loved it personally, it was green and beautiful and felt wonderful after our long winter... but we definitely had muddy, wet laundry to do when we got back to the house! (We missed the Andersen's who headed back home a day early.)
Poor Jadyn has been having withdrawals not having so many people to play with since we got home!! She has played LOTS of games and puzzle with her momma... because she was used to this all week... with Kyler, Nate, Blaire, Collin... etc! She is such an easy little thing, she never got sad the whole time and she says the CUTEST things that make everyone chuckle!! The Heaps especially loved her way of using "She" and "He" instead of "Her" and "Him". Such as "She want She binkie."
Lydia was an angel... Our whole family developed hacking coughs there, minus Tayler. (Our apoligizes again to the other three families...) we were nervous about Lydia's but she was a trooper and seems to be on the mend now.
We all LOVED the Tide Pools... so amazing! With new things to see each time!! The older girls seemed to love climbing around on the rocks and exploring. EVERYDAY they asked to get in their swimsuits... and each day we said "No way it is too cold." SO.... they came home soaking wet... fully clothed more than once a day!!
There were pros and cons to going to the Oregon Coast this time of year... Pros were that we had the whole beach to ourselves... never had crowds anywhere and most especially since it was off-season we got our 7 bedroom 4 bath ocean front house for $300/night. Split 4 ways we couldn't have beat that!
The Cons were that it could have been a little warmer... and a little less rainy. And the drive was long, but our kids did great!
The only real con was that it went by way too fast!!
Thanks for the memories Heaps, Carlsens and Andersens!!

Looks like your family had a great time. The only times I have been to Oregon it has rained as well, but it is so pretty! Cute, cute photos. Love the last one of your family!
