Obviously Jadyn wanted her nails painted today... so she did it herself.
When I smelled the polish and saw her slam the bathroom door shut when I came in I expected the worst. She did get a few spots on my bath mat and one on her shirt... but I am counting my lucky stars it wasn't worse! She said, "Pretty Mommy" with that satisfied smile - I must admit that for a two year old she did a mighty fine job! On the other hand... I am hoping that she doesn't try it again... now that I had her smile for a picture... she thinks she is pretty clever...

Why do we even encourage them to wear polish? I have two very large spots on my kitchen table where the finish has been removed by polish remover. (Courtesy of Amanda.) We've learned that having down a layer of newspaper is not enough. Wax paper helps. I've even made Amanda paint her nails in the bathtub. That way any messes would be easier to clean up. Why is it always one child that has all the nail polish messes?
