Hahahahahaha August was packed with stuff.
I laugh because there are LOTS of pictures in this post + it took forever. haha
Besides Girls Camp...
We had a family (minus boy Jaden) "Get Out Utah Day". I think our passes are SOOOO worth it! It gets us to do random fun stuff that we would never do otherwise + after their paid for it feels like all that fun stuff is free... so win win!!
Our first stop was Toad's in Ogden for Go Carting...
Then on to our favorite... Fat Cats in Ogden.
For LOTS of arcade games.
And a game of laser tag.
I'm always the loser at that one.
My accuracy is terrible because I just keep shooting. haha
But it's so dang fun!
Lunch @ Mod Pizza.
Then Tayler and Mia left us to get home for Tayler's Sports Academy Class she started teaching.
The rest of us headed on to IKEA... man we can spend a lot of time in that store.
We stopped at another Fat Cats in Midvale.
Played more arcade games and glow in the dark mini-golf.
No stop down south is complete without a Target run for us.
We really didn't do THAT much on our list of "Get Out" stuff. But we definitely had FUN!
There was a visit down to Syracuse for Raegan's 2nd Birthday Party... this is our only picture haha
But we spent a few hours school shopping for Lydia and Jadyn so it made the drive down super worthwhile!
Shane wanted to go to the Rodeo.
I wasn't that excited about it... but actually the rodeo is a super great time!
Food at the fair first.
We had Kate and Elle + Mia with us. What cute girls!
An all-around good time with the Rodeo folks.
The 2nd annual "Family Backpacking trip" was attended by Shane and Lydia again.
The pictures look BEAUTIFUL... but the hard work doesn't really show in the pictures. My 2 didn't complain or say much negative about it. I appreciate their good attitudes. Lydia seems to love EVERYTHING about the camping trips.
They ended up going to Imogene Lake in the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho (near Stanley). At the time I only knew they were BY Stanley Idaho... because that was the last location that "Find my Friends" said they were.
I THOUGHT they were going to the Uintah's... since that was the last place that was communicated to me. I DID hear that they were changing the place they were going... but never heard where nor why (it was weather based)... so I ASSUMED it was still somewhere in the Uintahs. Or they would have told me different... right?
Anyway, it didn't REALLY matter until Sunday night when Missy started texting me saying that Andy had told her they'd be back that night. And... we didn't end up hearing from anyone until Monday AM @ 11.
They hadn't told ANYONE where they were actually going... but it made sense to them because all of THEM knew where they were going. (insert rolling eyes here)
Missy and I were both thinking that if adults want to get lost in the woods... I guess go for it... but not when you have our babies!!!
I asked Lydia what her favorite part was and she said she, "loved jumping off the cliff". It took her a minute to do it but she was so glad she did! Proof that we appreciate the things more that are hard for us!
And that's all she'd give me... so here are the pictures. haha
These two are the huckleberry munchers.
Lydia said she slept great... but dad did not.
Lydia caught 3 fish... and touched 0 fish.
The night we went to the Rodeo, Jadyn got asked out on her first date. To the rodeo... but we were already there at the fair so she said she couldn't go.
So the next weekend she asked the same boy to the Water Lantern Festival in Kaysville cuz we had a promo code for free tickets for all of them. (regularly $35/person hahaha)
They had a great time.
Kenna had a trip to California with her cute friends in August.
It was only her 3rd time to California in 6 months. haha
They did one day at Disney and then ubered to San Diego for another 4 or 5.
They had a blast!
I'm grateful she has such good friends + that they were safe, and didn't go hang out with their "neighbors" in their Airbnb that wanted them to come "party" with them...
Aggie FC night @ the Aquatics Center.
Carly came with Jadyn, Kate with Lydia + we brought Coda and JJ Ibanez... the girls Saige nannied for in Connecticut with us.
Followed by a sleepover @ our house with Coda & JJ.
1st Day of School
UGH... I hate that they are getting so big...
Lydia is in 7th grade @ North Cache this year.
And Jadyn is a Junior @ Green Canyon.
WHAT?????!!!!
Kenna is starting her Sophomore year @ Utah State.
As a junior.
In fact she could graduate next December!
Mrs. Horman is teaching 2nd grade @ Fielding Elementary!
Yay for her! Those students are so lucky to have her because she is going to be incredible.
So proud of you Saige. (heart, heart)
She's spent hours and hours + $ and $ to get everything just right. Lydia and Coda went to help one day and Kenna another. And I'm pretty sure Keaton's been there like 50 times. haha
But her classroom is HONESTLY the cutest classroom I have EVER seen!
Aggie FC night @ the REAL Game was so much fun!
We took Kate with us, who also plays for Aggies FC and it worked out great.
Lots of fun and freebies before the game...
Lydia got to carry out the REAL flag to start the game.
and Kate was cheering on the sidelines.
We had a great time!
We spent a long weekend in St. George with the Astle's and Carlsen's
Lisa found us a 4 bedroom/5 bathroom condo at the Ledges
(I linked this condo here cuz I'd definitely stay there again.)
We left Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday AM the guys golfed @ The Ledges.
PS the weather was perfect... like mid 80's and for St. George in August... it couldn't have been better.
The girls spent a lazy morning at the condo.
Then joined them for Lunch in the clubhouse.
It was delicious!
Much of the weekend looked like this. Which was OK with me. haha
We ate @ Anasazi that night!
We loved it!!
The fondue was fabulous... we had 2 cheese fondues + 1 chocolate fondue for the 6 of us and it was plenty... especially since we each had an 8 oz steak + shrimp.
They bring your food uncooked on a super hot stone and you cut off chunks and cook to your liking.
It was expensive... but definitely worth it.
Donuts @ Pink Box the next morning... they were very appealing... but Lee's donuts are better. haha
Next we drove to Vegas.
We ate lunch @ Nacho Mama's... a big thumbs up.
And in case you were wondering.
Satan is still thriving in Las Vegas.
I actually hate Las Vegas, like if I never ever went there again in my entire lifetime I would be happy.
But... we were in Vegas for the Raiders Game.
Which I was actually not in the least excited about going to... especially for $350. haha
I tried to keep an open mind and it ended up being very fun and a great experience.
(A great experience that I would not care if I ever experienced again. ;););))
The Stadium was definitely super cool... oh and also "cool" inside... I wish I had brought a sweatshirt. Considering that it was 100 degrees outside I definitely preferred being chilly though. haha
We got there pretty early, but we really didn't have anything else we wanted to do... so it was fun to be there early and watch it go from this...
to this...
The next morning we ALL went golfing.
The guys did the teeing off and getting us to the green...
and the girls did the putting.
I didn't win at the putting... Lisa did... she says she's the least athletic but I highly disagree and the scores proved it!
Shane and I lost... but it wasn't just because of my putting...
;);););)
A lazy afternoon @ the pool.
And a drive home the next morning.
It was a fun weekend.
Mia is our favorite.
She cracks us up, loves "baby", calls goofy the "b" word, is smart as can be, gets her way and pretty much rules the family. hahaha
I had to add this, because this is what a night of games @ the Wegener's looks like. ;)
Shane always showing off that headstand of his.
+ us trying to figure out why it doesn't bother him to have the blood run to his head like that!
(And then there were actual games too hahaha)
Dinner @ Mo Betta's courtesy of our favorites.
August also brought weddings.
Kenna was a bridesmaid for her cute friend Brylee Bowman.
Tayler was a bridesmaid for Kenzie Davis.
Um, Kenzie's reception was the reception of the century.
It was at the Vineyards in Hyde Park.
We didn't know it was a meal... with more choices than one person could eat.
There were burgers and fries, street tacos, pizza, a fruit bar, shakes, fancy drinks etc.
And dancing... lots and lots of dancing with a live band and singer.
It must have cost a fortune... but it sure was a lot of fun!
August was busy and oh so much fun.
People keep talking about wanting the weather to cool off.
I highly disagree, if summer was 3 months longer than it is... it wouldn't be long enough!!
Cuz summer nights will ALWAYS be my favorite!
