February 2021

In February my family did some snow stuff.

(I say my family because I didn't participate in any of this ;))

Shane and Lydi built a couple snowmen.

Tayler and Jaden took the girls sledding.

These guys used the Get out Utah passes and went night skiing @ Brighton.

All three girls made pies at Young Women's.
I still can't get over that Lydia is in YW's with them now!

Since we now have 2 empty bedrooms on the main floor with Lydia and Jadyn moving up stairs.
I decided to pull out our crib and all the other baby stuff we had saved...
and yes bought a rocker and decorations. ;)

And now we have a nursery for all our future grandbabies.
Sometimes I just sit in there... it makes me so happy!
Less than 2 months left til' we get to meet her!

Elle was in town so there were two nights of cousin sleepovers.

There were all the regular Valentine traditions at our house.

Valentine's is also Jaden's birthday so we celebrated two for one.

Fondue night is every one's favorite!

Lydia lost another tooth, I pulled it out for her.
She was disgusted... can you tell. ;)

Sweet Ronda passed away.

She fought a good fight for 4.5 years battling all types of cancers.
I'll never forget her gratitude for life and acknowledgement of the many miracles and tender mercies she experienced along the way.  What an example she was.
And that laugh... I'll never forget her cackle laugh.

There were a bunch of basketball games for girls and boys.
And sadly in February Kenna's 3 years of cheer ended.

Also how cool is it that our smartie Kenna was awarded Academic All-State in Cheer!
22 girls got the award in the state of Utah.
Green Canyon had 4 of those.

I couldn't be more proud of Kenna for her dedication to... everything!

Shane stayed home from Senior night because he had a headache and was feeling all together crappy.

Yep it was Covid.

Before he even had been tested Kenna ran home and grabbed her stuff to stay with Tayler until we knew for sure.  She had been busy every night that week and only seen him when he was asleep and she came to say goodnight to me.  It pays to be busy I guess... because she avoided the whole quarantine part and lived with Tayler and Jaden for two weeks.

I'm so happy about that.
She got to cheer at her last basketball game.

Go to her last Prom.

I was so sad I couldn't be there to help her and take picture though. :(

Styles these days... I mean those pants and shoes. haha

And enjoy her Senior year.

February 20th quarantine started for Lydi, Jadyn and I.

I was so proud of them for being good sports, cuz it stinks to miss things.
They both missed a dance performance and school of course.
But actually it was a pretty ok time to have to do it.  It was at the end of the trimester for Jadyn and she was all caught up.  One of the days they were out of school anyway. etc. etc. It could have been worse!

During quarantine we cleaned.

Lydia sewed...

I bound up these two quilts.

Quilted and bound this one.

And started from scratch with this one.

Finished this up...

and started and finished this one.

And got these up
(Thanks for all the frames Shane!)

So yep it was pretty productive for me. ;)

We took a few walks at Elk Ridge to get out.

Then we had our Covid tests... mine was a rapid and negative.
But these two wouldn't do the high up brain swab haha so they opted for a spit test that would take a couple days.

Lydia's came back positive!

We immediately banished her to the basement with Shane!

And Jadyn and I started over with our quarantine.
We watched a bunch of movies and life was super quiet around here.

Lydia got a little bored. hahaha

But we made it.
February ended and March 1st came and life resumed normalcy.
I like normal!  But I appreciated February for close time with my little girls!

January 2021

 January started with wedding prep...

Our house turned into a shrine for these two.

and our entry was filled with boxes and gifts everyday...

You want to know a miracle?
I ordered this sign for them.
It wasn't cheap...$400.
It was BARELY going to make it on time.
Then there was an "international shipping freeze" and the chances were looking slimmer and slimmer.
I checked the status everyday.
The day before the wedding... set up day... I received an email from the company that it had finally made it to customs and would be arriving in 3-5 days.
GRRRRR
10 minutes later I opened the front door...
and it was there!
What!?!?
I emailed the company and told them it had arrived and they assured me that it couldn't have.

Yep it was a miracle... prayers are answered... even ones about neon signs!

The sisters + Presley threw Saige a Bachelorette spa night.

Shane turned 49.

Lydia started getting more assertive about lunch dates... ;)

She lost another tooth.

I started and finished a quilt.

We missed our Disney Cruise... :(
Thanks Jill for the darling sympathy cookies.

We sold our trusty bunkbed and changed Kenna's old room upstairs to Lydia's.

New Paint and a whole new look.

Green Canyon's Sadies Dance FINALLY happened after being rescheduled twice.
No dances are put on by the school this year... it's done by a group of moms.
But I'm so glad they are still happening!

Even before Sadies happened she got asked to Prom.
Since the dances had been postponed they're going to pack them in now. haha

There were more Green Canyon Games and Yay to "some" students being able to attend.

After game pictures with Cooper Pond... he plays for Logan and they won in 3 overtimes.

Kason Carlsen... he plays for Sky View and they walooped us!!

January was awesome.

A Wedding

A trip to St. George

The only thing that could have made it better was that Disney Cruise... but we'll keep dreaming about that for another year!
