Lydi wants teeth...

Lydia is teething...  the gnawing on everything she sees is a clue... and the drool pouring for her mouth is a clue... but then if she is like my other girls she might have to wait a while for that first little pearly white tooth to appear...  Tayler was 13 months...

Tonight looking through pics on my camera I came across a series that one of the girls must have taken...  it was right about the time when our peaches were on in all their glory.  Our little peach tree gave us near 3 bushels this year!  And they were delicious...

Lydia obviously thought Jadyn was enjoying herself...

Thought she might give it a try...

How'd you break through that skin sister??

Ah, forget it... Just give me that darn peach!

My guess is she didn't give it to her...  Which is why Lydi wishes she had TEETH!!

Shane needs a jazzy...

Yesterday Shane got this letter in the mail....

I think it came just in time...
Since Shane has a little Labor Day momento...
And for the 1st day or so answered "yes" to many of those questions above. :)

He wrestled with the 4-wheeler on a nice little ride with some of our girls...

And the 4-wheeler won!

I'd say he was pretty lucky that it's just tender and bruised!
And I'm grateful that he sacrificed himself for the safety of my girls...

But if it happens again...
I'm trading our 4-wheelers in for a "jazzy"...

It seems a lot safer...
I'm sure the girls will still want to go on rides with him...
And we'd get to go to the front of every line at Disneyland!! :)

5th Ward Camp Out...

This year our Ward Camp Out was held at Earley Park because of issues with the bridge at our last location.  It worked out fabulous... especially when the winds and rain set in and we had a lodge for the dinner and show.  We were a little sad that our turnout wasn't as great as the 220 that were signed up to come.  But we made do and had LOTS of leftovers of that yummy dutch-oven dinner.

As far as the sleeping at this event went... well I slept better when my baby was brand new and waking up a couple of times a night than I did here!  It started with the mattress that we were sleeping on...  the one that didn't hold air... then add in the coyotes barking in the distance (I thought someone was screaming)...  I could have passed on the trains that went past nearby... more than once... and the owl in the trees above our tent... the thunder and lightening... and thankfully the light not pounding rain...  a daughter that needed to use the bathroom... a baby who woke up probably to all the noise above... of course I was SOUND asleep when the call came for breakfast @ 7 AM... but I was most grateful that our camp out was only for one night!!
I feel much more comfortable in a hotel!
I'm just saying...

But... the "talent" portion of the camp out was once again a hit!  I have been asked to post a few of them here...  our ward really is talented and there were some great musical numbers, dance numbers, violin solos etc
Anyone who blogs knows that it takes forever to post videos on here (and if it doesn't take you long... PLEASE tell me how you do it...)  So these were a few of the more humorous "acts"...
(you'll need to turn off my music of course)

...Like "Dad's Life"...

... The "Mom Song"...
Brian and Gina's rendition of "Anything you can do, I can do better."
And I posted this next one not because it's humorous... but because a couple of those cute girls are mine!  And Tayler taught all these girls the dance.

Yep... our ward... friends... and neighbors... are just as fun (and talented) in everyday life!!  We think we are pretty blessed to live where we do!

Jackson Hole...

So two weeks ago... back before Hawaii and school and all that stuff... We headed up to Jackson for a couple days of fun and relaxation.  Once again Shane was going to work... and we all tagged along to not work...  My momma came with us and we had lots of fun.
I have a really nice hubby who works without complaint on our little trips so that the rest of us can play!

We stayed in the nice condos again... "The Love Ridge Condos".  We have a hard time fitting in that 3000 sq ft space.. but somehow we make do. :)

We had lots of fun riding the alpine slide... four times each...  I'm amazed that ONE ride is now $15...  that makes us extra grateful for the comped tickets!

We thought Jadyn might be nervous of the "big slide"...
but no way...
she kept asking Grandma why she couldn't go faster...
all the way down!

That night my mom took all the girls to the Bar J wranglers for yummy food and fun entertainment...

I looked at this next picture for a long time to try and figure out what was wrong...  Does it appear to anyone else that I look freakishly tall in this picture... my mom must be sitting on something... or else she is just freakishly short... :)

We had a good time together and were sad that we had to leave Shane there so we could get back and ready for that darn school that was starting soon... and we had to get back to dance lessons that night...  Summer was WAY too fast if we are already back in the daily grind of dance...  I go there so much that sometimes my car just takes me there...

And it really freaked me out when I saw leaves changing in the mountains...  remember this was back around August 23rd...  which means fall is far too close for me!!
Most people love fall...
I love spring because it means that summer is coming...
I don't love fall so much because it means that winter is coming.
And I could pass on the whole winter experience...
One day I want to be a "snowbird" and go south for the winter...
but last week I decided South and really far West would be better...
I'm thinking Hawaii...
And when we get to do that... I will totally be excited for fall!!

Back to Hawaii!!

I just had a major "mother moment" and was completely projectile vomited on by my baby during Sacrament Meeting!!  WOW!!  Big thanks to Deon who jumped right up and followed me out to help clean up the damage... I came straight home and started up the washer!

Lydia fell asleep and so it gave me a couple quiet hours to put this post together...

Last Monday Shane, Lydia and I & Joe and Lisa jetted off for a quick stay in HAWAII!!
Shane had a couple more days of work at the Laie Temple... and Joe was coming along to help.
Lisa came along to keep me company... mighty fun company I might add! :)
The other girls were left home in the care of our sweet friend Blaire.  Thanks Blaire!

We started out at a condo near Turtle Bay Resort that left a little to be desired...  We affectionately named it SC or "Sicko Condo"...  We chuckled at the sign on the door that asked us to "Please remove your shoes".  Apparently other people before us didn't get that message because there was no way I was taking my shoes off in that place...  the floors were filthy and my little rolling, almost crawling Lydia had to be guarded so she wouldn't roll off the sheets we placed around on the floor.  It was just plain dirty... Lisa really enjoyed the gecko running up the wall... and the stains on the towels and bedding.. needless to say the "girls" were hoping for a little bit more paradise than that...  So the next day we checked out and moved over to the Turtle Bay Resort.  AAAAH...  Paradise was found!!

Shane and Joe worked hard and... Lisa and I played hard...

We walked around the resort, lounged on the beach, visited the Dole Plantation Plant for Pineapple Dole Whip...

Spent a few hours shopping at Aloha Stadium's Swap Meet...  Took Ukulele lessons with Tutu Janet... (my girls were so excited that I bought them a nice one... Tayler, Saige and Kenna are all getting pretty good after only one day!)

Lydia was reintroduced to sand... which she was much more mobile in... and she ate lots more of than a few months ago when we were here.  (Possibly why we had projectile vomit in church today? :))  She spent some serious time playing peek-a-boo with us in her car seat.  She was a trooper on both flights... hardly a peep (we were SO happy that we had an extra seat between us BOTH ways!)
But she did have a couple "moments" to remind us that we had brought a baby along... like a freak out on the beach and more than a few "blow-outs"...  all in all she was fantastic!

I was surprised to see the new trick she learned... after leaving her "sitting up" in her crib... I came back in to find this...

We ate yummy food and took snacks to our guys.  We were happy when they finished up early Thursday morning so that we had a couple of days to play all together...

We saw turtles...

Swam at the resort...

I mainly posted that splashing one because of Shane's arm...  has anyone seen a "farmers tan" quite like that???  Oh, and by the way Joe and Lisa both agreed that Shane won the splashing contest!

We snorkeled...
hehehehehe...

Ate Shaved Ice at Motsumoto's...

Actually we ate lots of food because we couldn't let Joe and Lisa go home without trying all the yummy stuff... like malasadas from Leonard's, breakfast at the Hukilau Cafe and all the other "trucks" around the North Shore.

Lydia splashed in the water with us...

The boys jumped off the rock at Waimea Bay...  LOTS!!

And then humored me... and themselves (and those around) with jumping shots...  does anything say "happy" more than a jumping picture???

And just to be clear Lisa and I can jump too... just not off really high cliffs!!

We laughed and laughed and laughed... played cards at night... and noticed new fashions like this ALL OVER along the North Shore...

Is that comfortable???

It wasn't long enough... but it was fantastic!!  Thanks for coming with us Joe and Lisa, it wouldn't have been the same without you!!
